baseball - is it useful?

if you haven't seen the video, apparrently scouts can play baseball with the demoman's stickies. my question is, is there any practical use for this in-game? i mean, it's practical to bat away the stickies, but it seems so unlikely to pull off that i would think you'd have to camp a sentry gun or something just to do it.  otherwise it would just be a random chance "oh crap, sticky- *bonk* haha, awesome!"

*FLASH OF INSIGHT!!!!* waaaiiiiit.......can other classes do this?  because if an engineer can do it it might be practical, especially if he's sitting there humping his sentry....

I doubt thats real >.> If it is then that video certainly looks fake.

That's cool.  It definitely wasn't fake.

It could be a useful trick but it wouldn't be that practical when you'd really want to kill them instead of wasting time with a melee weapon from that distance.

It could be faked easily. I still don't think it's real. ;p

Anything can be faked, including inserting the bat sounds after the fact.. and editing in the kill/death crap afterwards.

If someone could get it to work again, I'd believe it. ;p

Even if it is true, a sticky would not explode after hitting the demoman.

Well its not useful, he can blow them up in mid and in your face. Its very risky if possible.

playing "Golf" with a sticky is fun though, the other day i batted a crit sticky back on the floor back to the demo, and the demoman blew himself up.

It could be real as if you stick stickies on a train in well they float in the air once the train is gone and a scout can bat them away, so im guessing it is possible just very hard and in the video im guessing they are just messing around thats why the demo detonates the sticky

If it works then I feel it could really change things. You could get a scout standing infront of a friendly sentry batting stickies away...
