for all your theorycrafting needs
currently as a lvl 40 'zerker i'm rocking
deep tank/blaster (which would end up looking like
this at level 50). and if i play this build smart i'm almost unkillable, especially with my Titan mod (+ 20% health, +2 hardened, +2 safeguard, +3 unbreakable, if i remember correctly).
*a note on Unbreakable - after a little testing it seems that the once unbreakable procs, it won't happen again until your shield fully recharges. that means that if you have 5/5 unbreakable (but with no class mod for it), you can get hurt till your shield hits 0, then it jumps back up to 75% over 5 seconds. if your shield goes down again BEFORE it gets a chance to regen back to 100%, unbreakable will not proc. but if you duck behind cover as soon as Unbreakable procs, then you basically just have to chill for that last 25% regen and you're good to go again. and of course since mods stack past max skill, you CAN get unbreakable to regen up to and beyond 100% - essentially giving you infinite shield if you can get to cover in a timely fashion.*
the only problem with this build is that i'm always running out of rockets, as Blaster seems built for you to spam rockets like they were candy. fortunately this problem should be mitigated by Master Blaster, and it really disappears completely with a support soldier (sup Capy!)
at this point in time i'm really only using Berzerk to regen health between fights, or as a panic button, or just for the lulz. which works fine for this build, but i'm thinking about mixing it up a bit...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
behold the deep Brawler at
40 and at
50. in the tank tree i'm eschewing shields (as my shields usually don't last long when i flip out and go melee anyway) and depending on the health regen and combined damage resists from the Berzerk skill and Juggernaut (which stack excellently), as well as using Bash for crowd control. beyond that, i'm filling out everything in the melee tree for more killin, and i'm gonna see if Prize Fighter does much when it comes to making more money - i've tried it out a little (albeit at 1 or 2 ranks) and really wasn't impressed with it.
i've skipped Sting Like a Bee as i don't normally have much problem closing the distance with baddies (though as i'm encountering more and more badmuthas with strong knockback i may reconsider.)
the biggest issues with the deep brawler that i can see right now is A) no more rawket lawnchairs, as without going deep blaster launchers are a pain in the ass, so i'd focus on shotties and rifles in between freakouts, B) not much use against flying mobs. but given the long travel time of rockets i usually switched to bullet weapons anyway, and C) not much use in Big Boss fights, which usually depend on you spamming the hell out their various Kill Me Spots. but there aren't many of those, and frankly they're lame anyway.
honestly, given the flak that you take when zerking out, i can't hardly imagine running a Brawler/Blaster build, though it'd be fun to see.
