


Map summary:
cp_pit is a 3 point symmetrical map. The pit is the contested middle
point in well...a pit in the ground. The point is elevated on a deck
to add various line of sight options. The pit is in the open and easy
to attack/defend making the round able to turn tides late into the
game. Two additional capture points are on opposite ends of the map
near the spawn area. There are multiple ways to attack and defend this
point with various optimal sentry placements. However the defense on
the point can be broken with a fight.
There are 4 main buildings on each side in cp_pit. First is the
spawn room with a respawn area and resupply room. The spawn building
has quite a few entries for attackers(use roofs wisely

. There is a
bridge connecting the spawn building to the second building the pit
building. The pit building helps act as a choke point with how the
ramps are layed out. The only way to the spawn capture point is up the
ramps in the two main rooms. The sniper tower is on an elevated
displacement for better line of sight on the map. There numerous
positions to snipe from on the building and there is also a tunnel
leading up to a cliff sniper position which has full line of sight of
the pit. Lastly there is the tunnel shack. The shack acts as another
choke point for attackers. It's placed close to the pit building to
form a narrow path to the sniper tower and spawn building. The shacks
main purpose is to provide access to the tunnel that goes down to the
lower part of the pit. This can be very useful for navigating the
level out of line of sight of snipers. It's also a great route to get
close to the enemies base.
I believe I've made the map playable for every class. There are enough
corners for pyros, enough neat jumps for scouts, plenty sniper
positions, and optimal placements in the map for sentries.(thats not
all of course) I think every class can play the map and have a true
role.
Lastly, I would love feedback on the map! There is a scheduled
playtest this weekend and everyone should check it out.(sometime
saturday/sunday afternoonish). I've created a video to show off the
level along with some neat tricks check it out!(soon...uploading atm).

Side notes:
From what i've played around
with there are a lot of cool things to jump around on in the map as a
scout. And all of the roofs are accessible so rocket/pipe jumps are
great. However snipers should pick anyone off of the roofs that rocket
jumps up. Lots of other cool jumps to do around the level I've had a
lot of fun with it
