Also I'm aware that it looks a lot like 2fort, but its going to be different on several levels.

First and foremost, you NEED a LOT of cover in that middle.  Otherwise you're looking at the most campy sniper map ever created.  Perhaps you can also help alleviate this by making the bases not even face each other.

I know no map like this, and to be honest I am not such a fan of this idea. We need the ability to have good sniper positions on the battlements, what is needed is not simply to remove that, it is to make sure that it is not getting too 'campy'.

@Big Lou, I have an actual description of the map on this thread.  I'm trying to cut down on sniper traffic by having a very exposed, very small battlement on each base.  This will make it easier to spot snipers as well as take them out.  I will discuss with my partner, da10x,  about having the bases side by side instead of facing each other.  Also for anyone interested, I've made a mapping studio on FPSbanana, that anyone interested can join.  We could definatly use the help of such pros as Milky and Big Lou.  If interested the name of the studio is "Working Name Studio".

CTF_Chaos is side by side bases not facing each other like 2fort

Well, I understand your concern, but at the end of the day, a talented sniper will dominate this map.  Regardless of how easy it is to spot him... in fact, that may bite you in the butt since it would be so much easier for him to spot enemy snipers trying to counter.  I jest really think there needs to be greater cover and less line of sight between the battlements.  This was actually one of Valve's concerns on 2Fort which was described in a PowerPoint presentation of theirs.

ctf_chaos pulls this off and does it quite well.  Now, it's a bit soldier-happy, but it does cut down on the overpowered sniper found in some linear CTF maps.

Remember, side-by-side isn't the only solution.  There's a lot of things you could do to help.  The easiest being cover.  Think about something like the bridge cover on 2Fort... but don't make it too similar or else your map will be tagged as a 2Fort clone which is never a good thing.
