I want to present you my map ctf_rockpike, a symetrical capture the flag map in a rocky environment.

There are three ways to the enemy intel: 1. Going direct way, but you're a good target for snipers there, through a cave between the bases, or through a gangway next to the bases.
Pictures:

Here you can download the map from FPSBanana
Here you can download it from my homepage.

I would be glad about comments

A good start!

More health/ammo kits, even if they are small ones, that are on ground level. Height is an advantage in itself, give those down below something to hold down their for.
Give small ammo kits to engi setup placements, because engies are almost vital on ctf maps, and metal is vital to an engineer.
Your straight paths are far too straight and boring! The pipey vents are boring, and easy to spam. Add some turns, ups and downs, or even cover. Anything!
Remove access from the main inside area (outside of spawn) to the middle of the vents. It defeats the point of going round a little bit, or consider those exits onto the middle section to be closer to their relative bases, rather than directly in the centre. (The middle pipe would require being slanted then though).
Consider giving access to the upper areas at middle directly from the middle point, so that pyros and heavies dont get outclassed by snipers every time. Not every heavy wants to go round massively every life.
The lower area is extremely risky, being a non-straight linear path from base to base, with the added danger of enemies above at the centre. Maybe consider removing the connection between these tunnels; simply allow teams to jump down into them from middle, like cp_freight has with the water areas. Your safe side drop down takes you to the enemy base, and doesnt connect with the opposite sides tunnels!

Dont allow players to stand on fences.
Dont place flat signs on curved surfaces (the intelligence sign on the spire ironically )
There are some strange shadows outside near the trucks and such. They disappear on my PC settings, depending on the angle I look at them. Very odd.
To reitirate, you HAVE to make the tunnels wider/ easier to navigate safely. Itll be a frustrating nightmare to use them in their current state.

Just some suggestions, dont feel the need to change anything at all, its merely my opinion.

Standing on the fences is a bug that'll be fixed in the next version, the shadows in the middle are a bug I don't know where it comes from

It would be too much to answer all your other points, let just say: I will think about it

Just looking at this (and not playing yet) is there any water on this map?  I'm just curious because with the mention of low amounts of health and no water a couple pyros could hold down the middle (as long as they aren't getting sniped).  I'll have to download this and check it out.

No there isn't any water, because the map plays in a desert. But you can jump down in the middle and there's a health kit.

To tell you the truth, that's the worst excuse for a lack of water I've ever heard. Mach4 has water, Badlands Arena has water, most maps have water.

A better idea would be to replace that health pack with a little pool, maybe make it into an alternate way at cost of drowning a bit. Scatter more health packs around, as Renegade says. Then It'll probably be fine. I don't know what it's like first-hand, but the complaints have led me to believe what I'm typing at the moment.

@Sanic: Granary doesn't have water.  Badlands (Screw badlands arena), Goldrush, Dustbowl, and Badwater don't have water. Neither does turbine, fastlane, lumberyard, steel, or gravelpit... :\

Doesn't need water IMO, it could use a few more health packs, but that would be good just to have a few more health packs, not necessarily for the fire damage...

Good job!

I am currently working on the next version, and there will be health packs in the middle on ground level.
As ChompaChompa said, most maps don't have water, it wouldn't fit in the map, I had to make it nearly complete new, so there won't be water.

Yes it does.  Do you think that giant oil tanker is floating on air?

All joking aside, the water debate brings up a good point.  You need enough healthpacks to balance some of the classes.  Also, as others have said, keep them on ground level as to coax people down from their advantageous highground and as to not overpower the highground.

Give me a shout on Steam and we can setup a public test on our servers!  SteamID: therealbiglou
