Not Yet Rated funny story/possible bug

Join Date: Nov 08, 2007 Post Count: 155   [FRGT] Fortunate Son User Options View All Posts By [FRGT] Fortunate Son View [FRGT] Fortunate Son's Stats   Specialty: Demoman Steam ID: Makepeace Clan: The Fraggot Clan   well, i think the bug only occured because it was a custom map (warpath) and i guess a custom mode (sudden death melee only soldier)... so anyway, i join a friend on a server, go red, choose soldier. i get a message that pops up that says "Sudden death, just relax and let this petty conflict end," or something like that... didnt really pay attention. so, apparently i wasnt supposed to spawn at all. i guess it had just started, but i spawn, and i have my rocket launcher out, even tho it's soldier only melee only, like a server thing. it wasnt agreed by all the players or anything. played on the server before. i know for certain it's forced. so anyway, yeah, i go out there and obliterate the enemy team with my RL. i mean, really, how often do you get the chance for that? and wouldnt you take it too?

Too bad theres no video of your pwnage. yeah, im actually really surprised too.. i thought i was gonna have to explain it all in chat, but only one person mentioned anything, on my team. and he accepted my response. but yeah, i shoulda hit record real quick. not used to using the steam thing. i always use fraps, but i do know the advantages of steam's function, and i really should get used to it, hehe.

The map was cp_well, and the engy built his gun at the final cp, against the long wall facing the point. So, it turns out that, no matter how many demomen you have armed with whiskey bottles, they can't take down a sentry gun. However, one guy snuck in from above, crouched under the rocket and dropped onto the CP out of range of the sentry and won regardless!

I joined just as SD started, as an Engie. Some people shouted at me when I started blasting with my Shotty, so I switched to the Wrench to shut 'em up. Still died though.  Ah well. Maybe next time...

Join Date: Dec 10, 2007 Post Count: 289   Analyzer User Options View All Posts By Analyzer View Analyzer's Stats     I think valve would fix that pretty soon..either to make sure that newly joined players only gets to use melee weapons, or players won't be able to join the server until the SD is over (which usually don't take long I think)
