html help for motd

I have this idea to stream in game chat to a window in motd... any one know if you can stream the chat from the server, and if so... any one know the html to accomplish this?

HTML is incapable of performing the task.  You'll need a server-side language such as ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, JSP, VCR, FBI, or OMGWTF.

i guess that was what i meant... a utility to get and present the data (PHP, OMG, etc.), and then html to pull that utilitie's output into motd.  unless i am mistaken, the motd is limited to html... i could b wrong about that... any one know?

Its possible. Not streaming though, you need javascript for that and i dont think the source html viewer does that.

You would need to program a php script to rcon into the server, filter out the chat, and then output it into an HTML page.

I dunno why youd want this for an MOTD when you can just push two buttons an join spectator.

just for fun... i figured i would mirror it to a web page as well... i already have stats in motd... mostly, i am working at learning html, php, etc. in my spare time... i hold a BS in Computer Network and Systems Administration, so it seemed like a good addition to my skillset (my specialties lie in the WAN routing field).
