new computer

well i'm almost positive that my computer is dead. so i need to get a new one and well i want to try to build one for the first time. so i kinda need some suggestions. well i don't need a moniter,mouse,speakers,keyboard,or a video card. so anything would be nice my budget is flexible but don't wanna spend more than 900.

Why is your computer not working? Or rather, in which way isn't it working?

well it will work for about 10 minutes then lock up completely. yes i live in the u.s

hrm..you'll spend a lot less than 900 w/o a video card. pretty much the only place for a gamer to splurge is on a video card unless you want to do silly stuff like buy an expensive sound-card or networking card or something, but those really just for people who have too much money or do something with their sound card besides play games (record music or whatever)

so yeah most important thing is what kind of card you have now.

oh cool well i have an 8600 and it runs tf2 fine so i don't think i need a new one.
and if i want a new one that can be purchased later because this one works fine.

what do you plan on doing with it?

also, it sounds like a possible heat issue with your current comp. try taking off the side panel and having  large fan blowing in it. see if that helps.
also, find a program to check the temps in your case and see iff anything is too hot (>100 degrees Celsius approx.)

well i am planning on playing TF2 and/or other pc games. and as previously stated i do live in the u.s

shouldn't be too hard to come up with something for 900 if you already have that...i built my system from $1100 which included all of that stuff, so should be able to get something pretty good for less that 900, so we're good there...will provide a more useful post if elhehir  fails to be useful
