strangely, it wasn't until i had logged over 15 hours of demo playtime that i learned you could charge up the sticky bomb launcher.  this led to a couple hours of ridiculous remote-pipe sniping - trying to detonate the sticky as it reached its destination.  sadly, due to the charge time, it's hard to launch more than one sticky over these great distances, so the kills are slow to come by unless you fire a crit.

has anyone found any good spots for this type of tactic or made an improbable kill doing this?

i find stickying the battlements by charge shotting can help deter snipers for at least a few minutes if you have problems of getting picked off while running to the other base...

learn the right amount of charge for the job. high charge low arc shots have as much a purpose and low charge high arc shots and both can go the same distance. Timing is the trick.
The battlement shot is a great practice shot. You launch across to the back wall where the sniper is and detonate as you jump down. Snipers have a hard time keeping a bead on you if they get bounced around by that. Watch out for the follow up shot as you cross into their side though.

I've actually gotten pretty good at the angles and charging time to drop stickies onto the enemy battlements on 2 Fort. It can be really effective (and satisfying!!) to drop all 8 of your stickies right where the Snipers like to pop out from and then BOOM!!! - Detonate for a nice Sniper BBQ. My record is 3 Snipers killed at one time with one set of 8 stickies doing this.

The only downside to this is that since you are so concentrated on getting the charge time and angle of your stickies just right you are prime pickings for any enemy that makes it up to your battlements (Mostly Scouts and Rocket jumping Soldiers).

But you can really frustrate the hell out of Snipers in 2 Fort when you keep dropping stickies on them from behind the cover at your base and they can't fight back because they never see you.

i've done it a few times on dustbowl, with a lot of luck might i add. i was on offense, it was the stage where its a pain to get out of spawn because of -insert every weapon imaginable- spam. anyways once the spam was over and we were out by just alittle.

there was this sniper that killed me more times than i can count, so i decided to charge up a sticky bomb shot. and i saw it land right behind the snipers back. detonate crit and it killed him. i was like..."IN YO FACE"...well in my mind.

I've killed people using my stickies at long range. Takes about three shots to take out a demo, but I managed it quite easily.
