the best bands no one's heard of

i love music, but i have a short attention span, so i'm constantly looking for new tunes to feed my appetite.  if you know a band that hasn't gotten a lot of circulation on the standard radio charts, let us know.  if you can link us to some media, even better

to start us off, heres a rapmetal - check that, it's "gangsta rock" - band out of NY called One Day Left.  i recommend Prophesy, Home, and Walk Away

Horse the Band
Its hardcore metal and 8-bit techno. They call it NINTENDOCORE.

Daft Punk. Techno, my favorite techno group.

Hezekiah Jones. Folk. Even if you don't like folk, give these guys a listen they are great. I don't really like what is considered folk but these guys are great.

Honest Bob and the Factory-To-Dealer Incentives. Not really sure on the genre, but look 'em up.

N.E.R.D. Rap. Not the crap that is on the radio, they have a lot of funk and R&B in some songs. And instead of glorifying drug abuse, they make fun of the dumb starlets that do cocaine! I hate rap, love this group.

ZeRo-BaSs. Techno. Look him up on Newgrounds.com  the guy goes some amazing stuff, and its all free and legal to download!

So there are some bands I like that some of you may not know. Pease no one jump on me saying "They aren't little known! Ive heard of those guys a long
 time ago" I'm just putting a bunch out there.... but im willing to bet that no one has heard Hezekiah Jones.

Cog - it's amazing some people haven't heard of them.
They're Aussie and Awesome.

Definitely listen to The Spine.

the exploding hearts. whole band died(save one) after realeasing two presses. amazing modern pop-punk band.
wolves in the throne room. real american black metal that doesn't suck.
envy. japanese sludge metal. my current favorite band.

ps- this topic is insanely broad. i bet most of us could name bands for days.

An amazing band from New Orleans.
Mixes a lot of techo, hip-hop, and pure rock.
Probably one of the craziest live bands ever.

Astral Projections - Crystal Method like band that adds guitar riffs and solos to techno.



Sunn O))) - Ambient bass and guitar through 15+ songs without changing a note, it's insane live or through headphones.  Your whole body shakes


The Mars Volta's Demos like "Cut that City" and such.


Earth - More lively Sunn O))) band.


Devin Townsend's solo work.  And his band.

HURT, Breaking Benjamin, Dope, Avantasia....

Not sure how well known they are.

Leftover Crack/Choking Victim/The Crack Rock Steady 7 etc

Basically the same group of 8 NY squatters, a delightful blend of hardcore punk and ska with massivley political undertones. Lovely stuff!

For your more traditional rocker, Orange Goblin are an A W E S O M E stoner rock band.

And then there's Tool, everyone should own Lateralus, probably one of the greatest albums of all time.
