Almost any USB Mic should work fine, I have some brand called Rocketfish.

Headphones are much preferred. I would give you a recommendation, but I hate my headset.

The best -> Sennheiser PC 166 It has standard mic/speak connectors and a usb dongle with built in soundcard. There's a 3H and 5H model, but the 4H were less expensive than the 3H because of a rebate, so I went with that.
